Sevinç Altan establishes complex, broken and fragmented relationships with the tradition of painting by using different materials and techniques. The void, as a space of uncertainty between life and death, where both are devalued, forms the backdrop of her paintings as a landscape without perspective. In this imperfect, unfinished, incomplete landscape formed by the scratches of memory, the fragments of the everyday, political and social events are also imperfectly attached. The artist, who believes that the encounters, tensions and transitions between the fields of art and politics cannot be abstracted from social movements, focuses on te moments that blur the borders and the potentials they carry, and reflects on the capacity of aesthetic experience to create unpredictable, undefinable forms. Although color is sometimes present in her paintings, which are usually monochrome-based, it is usually not at the center and is present only to the extent that it serves the composition.
